Bryan Tenenhouse

With over 25 years of integrated agency and marketing experience, Bryan has established himself as one of Canada's top creative professionals. Combining his expertise in almost every conceivable business category with an understanding of awareness advertising, digital marketing, loyalty and retention, and fundraising, Bryan knows how to build and support brands while generating award-winning results for his clients.

Bryan worked his way up from copywriter to Chief Creative Officer at various multi-national agencies including Wunderman, Arnold Worldwide, BBDO, Ogilvy and Draft, working on large blue chip accounts such as RBC Royal Bank, Apple Canada, AOL Canada, AT&T, Canadian Tire, FedEx, Canada Post, Hbc, Tourism Toronto, Volkswagen, Bank of Montreal, Sprint Canada, Ministry of Health, Johnson & Johnson and many more. It has now been 5 years since Bryan founded The Tenenhouse Project, a virtual agency providing commercial clients with everything from websites, digital campaigns and television spots to collateral, print ads, direct mail, and integrated multi-media campaigns. He also acts as Creative Director at Stephen Thomas Ltd., Canada's premier, full service, integrated fundraising and marketing agency, exclusively serving non-profit clients such as Canadian Cancer Society, Doctors without Borders, Canadian Diabetes Association, Food Banks Canada, U of T, Kids Help Phone and many others.

Bryan is the recipient of multiple Canadian Marketing Association (CMA/RSVP) Awards for almost every year he's been in the business, plus several international awards including a Gold International ECHO Award for Apple Canada. He is also the recipient of several Mobius Awards and various other business category awards such as "Best in Show" at the Electronic Retailers Association Awards.

As founding Vice-Chair (and ultimately, Chair) of the CMA's Response Marketing Council, Bryan sat on the CMA's Board of Directors, and has served as a member of CMA's National Conference Committee. Bryan was also a founding Jurist for the National Advertising Awards 2006 (Direct) that sends its winners to the Cannes Festival, and was Chair of the Direct Jury. He was also part-time faculty (Professor) in the Communication Arts Program at Seneca@York where he taught the Creative Advertising Portfolio Workshop. His articles have appeared in Marketing Magazine and Strategy Magazine. He a highly rated speaker and is often asked to address topics related to creative and strategy at industry conferences -- most recently at the Association for Fundraising Professionals. This marks his return to blogging for the CMA.
