John McAlister is the National Director of Marketing and Communications for The Salvation Army. John is passionate about improving the lives of marginalized and vulnerable people, and helping non-profit organizations communicate more effectively with their stakeholders. He believes in the transformational power of stories, especially when accompanied by exceptional strategy, measurement and evaluation. With over 20 years of experience in Canada and Zimbabwe, John has learned that nothing great ever happens without genuine collaboration. He holds a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Royal Roads University, with a focus on communications, humanitarian action and organizational leadership.
