CASL Regulations: Proposed vs. Final

Canada’s Anti-Spam Law was passed in December 2010, however the law provided for Cabinet to pass regulations to fill in the detailed requirements for compliance. The regulations were first issued in the summer of 2011. Over the past two and a half years CMA has been engaged with government to shape the regulations so as to reduce the negative impact on marketers. This document reflects the before and after of some key regulations of interest to marketers.
